D2 Economic Geography

This lecture introduces two major perspectives in contemporary economic geography- the regional innovation systems theory and the theory of global value chains and global production networks. Main tenets as well as main limitations of both theories are outlined and, subsequently, possible policy implications of both theories are discussed.
