The lecture gives an essential insight into the research, development and statistics of inbound, outbound and domestic tourism in Czechia with focus on regional aspects, SWOT analysis, tourism management and recent risk factors – overtourism and pandemics and migration crises threats.

The second part presents a long-term research of the Leisure Geography Research Centre on specific form of tourism – second homes – with focus on factors of development, regional distribution, new activities and perspectives related to the pandemic.

• Development with the focus on the transition period, importance for national economy, flows of foreign tourists, specifics of nationalities, pandemics effects

• Leisure Geography Research Center surveys – sources, methods
• Characteristics of second homes and their owners – questionnaire survey results in model regions
• Contemporary trends (conversion to residential function, internationalization and commercialization, (holiday resorts, „Dutch villages“, recreational apartments, identity of regions)
• Role of second homes in pandemics time
• Perspectives (demographic changes, tax system, migration effects)
